Marino Gil, by John Carter
The final day of the 2025 Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup finished with a flourish with more competition for the Youth’s and Master’s, while a chaotic Super Session was held in the after to bring the curtain down on the 37th edition of the event.
Super Session
At 2:30pm a half an hour Super Session was held and it turned into pure chaos with all the sailors on the water at the same time. In the end it turned into a double forward fest with Marino Gil (JP / NeilPryde / MFC) and Daida Moreno (Bruch Boards / Bruch Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) winning the Men’s and Women’s for double forwards. Meanwhile, Philip Köster (Severne / Severne Sails) came second for a double forward on the way in, while Ricardo Campello (MFC) completes the Men’s podium also for a double forward. In the Women’s, Sol Degrieck (Severne / Severne Sails) finished second for a double forward attempt, while Justyna Sniady (Flikka / North Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) completes the top three for a tabletop forwards.
Master’s
Earlier in the day, reigning world champion Mike Friedl (Goya Windsurfing) successfully ended Toni Pijoan’s (Severne / Severne Sails) come back through the double to defend his second place, but with Lars Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) unfortunately having to leave early, Friedl takes the event win here in Gran Canaria.
Boy’s U15
Yannik Kolb Gonzalez sailed well to defend his Single Elimination victory as he saw off a valiant effort from Koa Fabbio (Naish / Naish Sails), who finishes this year’s event in second place, while Elías Antolín (Duotone Windsurfing) completes the podium.
Girl’s U13
Trine Gobisch (Duotone Windsurfing) signed off the event in style as the young German made it a hat-trick of final wins to deservedly come out on top in the Girl’s U13 division with Fumi Akita (Goya Windsurfing / Severne Sails) finishing in second.
Boy’s U13
In the third and final Boy’s U13 heat, Dennis Kolb Gonzalez once again came out on top as he takes the victory ahead of his brother Eric Kolb Gonzalez and Rocco Swift.
