Japan Day 1, Competition Underway

The SPiCare Omaezaki Japan World Cup kicked off today with the early Challenger rounds completed, setting the stage for what could be Finals Day tomorrow.

Conditions look promising for a very early sunrise start tomorrow. Riders will meet at the beach for a 6.30am dawn briefing, and first possible start at 7am.

The star studded field of riders in Japan include 5 x world champion Philip Koster from Germany, reigning and 3 x world champion Marcilio Browne from Brazil, 3 x world champion Victor Fernandez from Spain, 3 x Aloha Classic Grand Final champion Morgan Noireaux, 2 x Aloha Classic Grand Final champion Antoine Martin, 2 x Aloha Classic Grand Final champion Bernd Roediger, World Champion Thomas Traversa, 2 x Aloha Classic Grand Final champion Sarah Hauser, Aloha Classic Grand Final champion, 20 x Japan champion and reigning Japan World Cup champion Motoko Sato, reigning Junior world champion Liam Dunkerbeck, and so many more. Riders from 6 continents are here in Japan to proudly represent their countries.

Japan’s hottest young talent is excited at the challenge to take them all on at their home break, and show them who they are as the pride of Omaezaki and Japan. Current #1 rider in Japan Takuma Sugi, #2 Takara Ishii and his younger brother #3 Hayata Ishii are all setting the scene on fire as they charge out of the Junior ranks and take aim at the biggest names in the sport.
