Maui, Hawaii, 10 Nov, 2020:
The International Windsurfing Tour (IWT) has today announced that the global video editing platform, Clipchamp will be the exclusive video partner of the IWT Wave Tour and the IWT Big Wave Challenge, supporting the IWT core mission: to discover, support and crown the most radical wave riders around the world.
The partnership involves Clipchamp collaborating with the IWT on its two flagship events: the IWT Wave Tour, which takes part in seven locations around the Asia Pacific, culminating in the Grand Final Aloha Classic in Hawaii, and the IWT Big Wave Challenge, an online format celebrating the most radical wave riders globally which runs from now until March 31, 2021.
As the IWT continues to march towards its goal of becoming ‘the World Surf League of Windsurfing’, the partnership with Clipchamp provides riders with an easy to use platform that allows them to create impressive video content to build their online brands and increase social media engagement.
Last year, IWT’s events achieved over 20 million views across the organization’s Facebook and Instagram channels. This year with Clipchamp as its inaugural video partner, the IWT is expecting to boost online engagement among its global sports fan base of over 350,000 followers, and further inspire aspiring wave riding fans.
Simeon Glasson, IWT Director, said: “We’re hugely excited that Clipchamp is coming on as the first supporting partner for IWT globally. This is going to be a great boost for our talented content creators. Partnering with one of the most exciting rising stars in the tech world is a great fit for the IWT and the spectacular radical wave riding content that we support. We can’t wait for the inaugural Clipchamp supported IWT Big Wave and Wave Tour seasons to begin, and for the stunning content to flow to our fans around the world.”
“The longer-term IWT goals are to be able to offer strong support to aspiring youth riders around the world, a pro rider prize pool of USD $100,000 for the IWT Grand Final Aloha Classic, and the same $100,000 prize pool for the IWT Big Wave Challenge,” added Mr Glasson. “If we continue with our hard work promoting the breathtaking wave riding content to the world, then there is no limit to how far this could go.”
