Paros island, Greece – After Morocco, North Carolina, Oregon and Maui, the International Windsurfing Tour (IWT) sails to the Greek islands for the first time where the inaugural Paros Wind Odyssey 2018 will take place from 11-15 July at the famous windsurfing spot of Pounda in Paros island, of the Cyclades island complex in Greece.
Paros Wind Odyssey 2018 is organized by The Nautical Club of Drios in Paros “The Dolphins”, in co-operation with the International Windsurfing Tour (IWT). With a thrilling lineup of some of the very best skill masters of the sport, the event participants will compete in Slalom racing in a single-elimination tournament.The two divisions of the event are Men and Women, with equivalent subdivisions of Seniors, Masters, and Youth, plus Juniors and Grandmasters for the Men division. All participants shall race together in one fleet unless this is altered in the Sailing Instructions. Paros Wind Odyssey is an “open entry” Championship and competitors shall race a maximum of 4 full eliminations per day.
Aspiring to establish the international role of IWT, the event will launch with the Opening Ceremony and athletes’ welcome party on Tuesday 10th July, the competitions will kick off on Wednesday 11th July, and the event will close on Sunday 15 July with the Prize Ceremony and Closing party.
